charting a new normal

oh i cant sleep so here goes. another blog post hehe

i have been putting a lot of thoughts to this phrase.
'the new normal'
trends, hypes, fads, virals. all its other names.

i was never a follower to these things. shifting from information age to big data age made me learn a thing or two about the fast information travel. first, people never really cross check their info. second, people are eager to feel useful and having sense of purpose. being the first to pass the info can give that satisfaction. third, people love to correct. it doesnt take much to trigger but people can really go on and on beyond the issues at hand.

filtering facts from opinion also seems to be a thing of the past. doesnt matter hitting the sentiments, offensive or not, its what that sells and that will be just what that will be reported as headline. RIP journalism. it crushed my heart when the saying 'a picture can tell a thousand words' now backfired. people can really make up more than a thousand stories from one single picture alone. again, doesnt matter the truth, as long as it sells, it garners likes shares and comments.

so, back to the title.. the new normal. i am always a big believer to fundamental approach. if it ticks all the basics then its for me. i dont wear fancy clothes with ruffels because that might go out of trend and i can use it anymore. i tend to buy as plain clothings as possible because thats the basics. its very hard to change my own mindset and view that that is not where the trends, hypes, fads, and virals is. take beauty for example. how cosmetics company made millions n billions selling unfundamental products. how fashion magazine firms is the cooler workplace of choice than the engineering and architecture firms.

something must be right somewhere.

i suppose it must still be revolving around one fundamental thing or two. instead of purpose, they pulling the crowd by... something very basic, too.
sentiments?
fast real measurable results?

gotta have more intense series of shower thoughts to all this questions hehe

#mytakecharge the take off

we are still in the midst of setting up.. building content.. fronting objectives of this name.

it is supposed to be just a platform to raise awareness. one of the many.

i envision we could eventually inculcate this as a habit and elevate the practice as a new normal. just one person in one family is adequate; given the current state of preparedness in most families.

but lets be honest.. it sounds dull. i wonder if putting numbers would make it all more exciting? ending the persuasive with a clear call for action.

oh.. perhaps that is going to require damn interesting marketing.. maybe thai level. lol. at first u look at it interesting, the next u sakit hati why so funny, then u got the message. damn brilliant!
yeah. lets do that!

ok first thing first get those infographics up!!

#takecharge

what?

we are born leaders. however small our unit is, we all indeed are. first we lead ourselves to the correct path n pray for always shed in the light of guidance. then take a forward step.

my main area of concern is the sustainability. individual, family, community, country, world as a whole an of course, in the hereafter too. big words. but if we can chunk it out into smaller easier to digest chapters, its not impossible.

riding the wave of tough times now and ahead, its important to go back to basic, get down to the fundamental of things. as basic as water and food. as fundamental as cash holding and commodity keeping.

so i am appointing myself to #takecharge in advocating many others to also actively #takecharge of themselves too. a little goes a long way, i really look forward to work on it.

and... not too early to credit my soon to be #takecharge partner onboard, too. two is better than one, huh?

why?

because instead of panicking ourselves over the ever shocking news headlines and complaining and finger pointing, why dont we channel that strong feeling do something about it. we might not be able to do it all but we've got to start somewhere, no?

who?

i am just a concerned citizen. with little experience and knowledge in life and huge curiousity.
and my main target crowd after my family is my neighbours. and then the people in my city. it will be tailored so both urban and rural people will find it useful to them

when?

now is good. procrastination can wait.

i shall work on the timeline first. charting the matters that matter first and then conditioning the #takecharge as new normal and elevate the comfort level to suit different level of interest and capacity.

where?

areas of impact would be led with the closest to self. it is always a priority. increase the capacity as we go along.

as for the medium of interaction, riding on the hype of social media as we know it today would suit the purpose just find. facebook will be the primary platform, supplemented by instagram too.
physical interaction will also be considered if it sees fit.

how?

i have yet to figure. establishing a steady informed follower group would take a wow marketing to achieve.

i envisioned #takecharge to be one of the primary go-to channel of getting practical do's and dont's of every day things in life.

nice write ups, interesting graphics, reliable source of infos.. mostly just compiling or translating the ready materials to the local audience.

ideas remain ideas until i actually #takecharge to get one move up. lets do this!

of 27

oh hey. ive turned 27 this year. what a beautiful number. i always looking forward to be an adult, proper grown up. im about to be one. yeay!

just 3 more years to the three series. yeay! urm okay. big three O. ookay. sounds bit *cough* old.

thing is im running late. idk perhaps this past few months has been a little slow to me i feel restless. i dont like it i want to change but i dont know where to begin.

and i got myself a car. after much consideration. few mistakes along the way. and i realize. oh hey its nice to be 27.

here's why.

the other day i attended a meeting with IEM Toastmasters Club. i was early. usually i would arrive just ontime via public transport, trains and walk for quite some distance but driving there just took me 30 mins. so i took my time running some errands and have a nice cup of barley while waiting with few other members.

before the meeting started, i went to my car to change my shoes. because the meeting is somewhat in formal setting, ive gotta dress to the occasion, we always have, dont we? when i was walking towards the car, there was a nice shiny Benz parked next to it. admiring it briefly i proceed unlocking my car. looking up, there was my friend, apparently walking behind me without me noticing, fellow Past President of the club, looking quite suprised himself

PP: i thought that was ur car. *pointing to the silver Benz*
Me: wow u did? aameeen to that, LOL.
PP: i was wondering what this young lady do to be driving such car.
Me: haha how i wish its mine. im happy with this now. *glancing towards my very car*
PP: its a nice car. my wife had this before
Me: really? cool, i just bought this recently actually.
(not knowing how to mask my words, LOL)

it struck me until this moment. i do have some expectations towards me. i mean, yeah i always do. but i always so focused towards my goal i never see any need to comply with others general perception of what should i do i just have things my way. if living frugal will retain me most money so i can stick to my plan, thats what i am.

and i also realize i need to have a certain way of carrying myself to get there. how not to be cheap while aiming to save and not spending? this is where it gets tricky.

but thats the nice thing about being young. 27 is still young.
we can afford to be cheap.
we can afford to make mistakes.
we can afford to not knowing goals.

but i am not.
i dont want cheap.
i dont want to be delayed by stupid mistakes.
i dont want to be strayed too much and regret later for not being able to achieve my goals.

27 is like so young but so old. or me, like i always been, having an old soul.

ive gotta stay focused. *feeling determined*
